La Becasse, Ludlow Launches ‘The No1 Vault’

Chef will Holland has launched is much anticipated “No1 Vault” private dining and tasting room at his La Becasse Restaurant in Ludlow, which was revealed to invited esteemed guests. Sponsored by Bowmore Whisky from Islay, this tasting room can seat up to 14 guests who can enjoy Chef Will Holland’s hospitality including his culinary creations, and he promises ‘a few surprises’.

The project has been a long time in the planning, in line with all of Will’s projects, perfection is the aim, and good things clearly come to those who wait. The feedback on the night was very positive, and guests were already keen to sample the surprise menus that Will promises will be on offer “This is going to be a real experience for our diners” commented Will “We wanted to help share the raw passions of the brigade, and let the diners get as close to the essence of the working kitchen as possible, whilst still providing them with privacy should they require it” The room is home to some impressive bespoke butchers block style tables created by local carpenter Ian Hardwick for the lucky diners to sit and enjoy the views of the kitchen through the thick glass windows, framed perfectly by the patterned white wall tiles, and brass lamps, and enjoy the creations which are from within. “we will be providing our guests with a unique experience” adds Chef Will “Serving our 7 course surprise menus for lunch and 10 courses for dinner, plus guests will be treated to some extra surprises from the kitchens, whilst they can watch the engine room serve the entire restaurant, it truly is unique”.

The interior was created by Midlands based Wilkinson Bevan Design, who are based in Solihull and are regular diners at la Becasse. MD Richard Wilkinson who was with Nigel Bevan on the opening night commented “We were dining here one day last year and Will was sharing his passions and visions for the restaurant after our meal, and asked us to share what we thought would reflect his vision – we were delighted when we found we had the job, and what you see is the fruits of our labour and Will’s visions. He has done a wonderful job pulling it all together, we can’t wait to finally be able to dine in here in the coming weeks”.

Chef Alan Murchison of 10 in 8 Restaurants who ‘made it all possible’ according to Will added “I was speechless when I saw the results, it really brings he restaurant together and lifts it to another level – I think the room rivals many of the ones I see in London, and I am sure those diners who manage to book the room will be blown away by the experience”.
