Walsall based Indian restaurant, Five Rivers A La Carte, have received their golden ticket to the national 2012 British Curry Awards final for the category of “Best Newcomer”.

Dubbed ‘the Oscars of the Curry Awards’, the lavish, star studded event will be held on Monday 26th November 2012, at Battersea Evolution in London. This year’s British Curry Awards has seen a record number of nominations with over 70,000 nominations from across the UK. All regional finalists and winners will be announced at the final by a well-known celebrity Chef, who is being kept under wraps until the night of the Awards.

Previous celebrity guests and hosts include current Prime Minister, David Cameron, Rolf Harris, Chris Tarrant, Sir Trevor McDonald, John Culshaw, as well as celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal and James Martin, who announced the regional finalists and winners at last year’s British Curry Awards.

Organisers of the event have teamed up with media partners such as ITN, Star Plus, BBC and the Daily Mirror in a bid to create an amazing spectacle that is set to dazzle all guests on the evening!

Group Sales & Marketing Director, Shamim HM, comments: “We are honoured to have been shortlisted for the Best Newcomer category at this prestigious awards ceremony. We have all worked very hard and we are pleased to know that it is paying off.”
