Aalto celebrates first six months with diner acclaim

Aalto Restaurant in Birmingham is celebrating its first six months by landing the prestigious number one slot for West Midlands restaurants as recommended by diners.

The brasserie, at Hotel La Tour in Albert Street, serves modern classics inspired by Michelin-starred Chef Marcus Wareing and cooked by Head Chef Alex Penhaligon and his team. Aalto was ranked #1 on the Tripadvisor review site during the week commencing September 17 after consistently receiving positive feedback from customers.

Alex said: “Anyone who works in hospitality will know how hard a new opening is, so after just six months it’s great for the team to see all their efforts paying off. We listen to our customers and respond accordingly, we thank them for their praise and make alterations when they have suggestions.”

Aalto has just launched its new menu for autumn with dishes including Slow cooked pork cheek with apricots and lentils, Seared scallops with squid ink and a bacon and cauliflower puree plus Roasted butternut squash risotto with pinenuts. Puddings include a retro-feeling Black Forest sundae with cream, chocolate and kirsch plus a warm and comforting Sticky toffee pudding – presented with a modern twist.
