Afternoon Tea Charity Challenge supported by World renowned Birmingham Manufacturer

An acclaimed Warwickshire dining pub is hoping to raise more than £1,000 for charity with a fund raising afternoon tea ladies day, with a difference.
The Bluebell, at Henley-in-Arden, is backing Myton Hospice in their ‘Take 50 Challenge’ and has enlisted the support of businesswomen from the networking group ‘BLAH’ (Business Ladies Around Henley).

Today Bluebell proprietor Leigh Taylor said:  “We are fast establishing the Bluebell as a true afternoon tea venue during this vintage revival.  Simon Malin, our head chef has trained in some of the best pastry kitchens in the country, his baking skills are extraordinary and his creativity means that our teas all have an element of surprise about them, this St George’s Day charity event is the perfect opportunity to show off his skills for such a good cause”

Ladies from the BLAH Network and their friends will enjoy a modern take on a vintage  afternoon tea with some surprise ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’ curios as well as the traditional fare created by head chef Simon Malin.  Midlands food and drink expert Philippe Boucheron, will talk about the history of afternoon tea, the pairing of Champagne and how this year is the 350th anniversary of tea coming to Britain from China. Leigh added, “The afternoon tea event will be in aid of the Myton Hospice, and will be specifically for ladies and we hope as many as possible come forward to take part either by means of purchasing tickets for the event on Monday the 23 April, aptly St George’s Day, and enjoy the talk, a glass of premier champagne and afternoon tea, for this worthy cause”

Heavy weight support from World renowned Birmingham Manufacturer has come from a  highly respected local manufacture of hand crafted silverware, cutlery and crockery. Heritage Collection LTD, based in Small Heath Birmingham,  who manufacture on site some of the worlds’ finest tea sets, including for The Ritz, The Dorchester, The Orient Express, and hotels in Dubai, USA and the Far East, has offered to support the charity afternoon tea event by donating some very special items for auction, “We heard about the good work the team at the Bluebell are doing, and their acclaimed afternoon teas, and as soon as we read about their charity challenge we offered our full support with one of our hand-crafted afternoon tea stands, together with a unique bone China tea set” comments Anthony McDonagh of Heritage LTD (pictured with Leigh Taylor, the donated stand, and tea set) “we hand craft all our creations, and have donated the Fine Bone China Tea set which we call ” Papillon”  which has been hand decorated with a lovely blue flowers and butterfly scene hence the name , and a unique hand crafted two tier Rustic Tea stand with beautiful hand cut crystal Plates. We hope it helps Leigh and the BLAH ladies reach their generous target for the hospice”
