Birmingham welcomes another new top restaurant

On 30 March Aalto Restaurant will open as part of the new Hotel la Tour – a short stroll from Selfridges.

Internationally renowned Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, whose acclaimed restaurant Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge, London, has two Michelin stars, is the vision behind this stunning new restaurant. 

Alex Penhaligon is the newly-appointed Head Chef at Hotel La Tour and has been working with Marcus and his team to develop menus for Aalto, plus the Alvar Bar. The new menu promises to be a modern twist on English classics.

Marcus is working in an advisory role, devising menu concepts and assisting with recruitment and training of the hotel’s kitchen staff, as well as working in an ongoing capacity to continue to develop menus and standards.

The £24m hotel in Albert Street, also features a coffee shop, 174 bedrooms and suites plus a conference and events floor.
