Like many of the regions pubs and restaurants, The Punchbowl Inn, Bridgnorth has been hit badly by poor weather suffering many cancellations – but The Punch Bowl, has offered cancelling customers an early Christmas gift.
Though located on the main road from Bridgnorth to Ludlow, the Punch Bowl has suffered over 1,000 cancellations for its very popular festive lunches and party nights – held in its plush function suite – having to close last weekend due to weather cancellations, costing them in excess of £20,000 so far.

As a gesture of goodwill, owner Adam Giles has offered all cancellations up until today a substitute date in January to hold their event – thus securing their deposits “This December has been tough for many businesses across the region – we are no exception – but we have so many loyal customers and businesses who have saved up their hard earned money this year, and have been so disappointed to have to cancel their event, with some even in tears – so we have agreed to offer all cancellations to date an alternative date for January, thus securing their deposits – with an almost 100% uptake so far!” Their Christmas day, Boxing day and their pre-New Years Eve and New Years Eve events with Robbie Williams and Take that tributes will go ahead as planned.
Prices held – Prices at all restaurants are set to go up with the VAT increase in January, but the Punch Bowl has also held prices until February “We will have increased costs across our business from January, but again, to help our customers, we are holding all our prices until February, including our award winning carvery, a la carte menu, and of course our Christmas parties starting from just £14.95 for 3 courses.” Adam added “We are hoping that the snow will have subsided in time for our Pre New Years Eve and New Years Eve parties and our popular Abba Tribute Night in January”.
