Taste Birmingham was a roaring success, with thousands of Midlands foodies converging on Cannon Hill Park where they were treated to 3 days of gourmet indulgence. Taster dishes were provided from some of the regions finest chefs, offering samples of their signature dishes from top restaurants including:

City Inn Hotels’ City Café which offers food on the City Inn’s terrace overlooking BrindleyPlace, who also hosted the VIP area…Read our review link at the end of this article. Aria of the Hyatt Regency, who served the finest afternoon tea selection, in line with their daily offering in their atrium restaurant (see photos below),  Asha; award winning Indian food on Newhall Street, in Birmingham City Centre. Cafe Ikon, Serving a menu of Spanish tapas, using some local ingredients, Cielo;
regarded as one of Birmingham’s finest Italian restaurants,  Deep Caribbean Experience; an exclusive Caribbean restaurant in Birmingham City Centre, Filini Bar & Restaurant; Offering flavours are inspired from contemporary Italian cuisine, an aromatic fusion that is the trademark of Italian Cuisine. Fusion Brasserie; A popular Italian Fusion restaurant set in the beautiful rural setting of Stoulton, Worcestershire, run by acclaimed Chef Felice Tocchini and his wife Fiorinda.
Great British Eatery; Number 1 fish and chip shop in England, seafish awards 2010! Also THE most popular restaurant at Taste Birmingham, serving over 3,000 porti9ons of sty fish and chips over 3 days! Kinnaree; Gem of a restaurant, serving authentic cuisine fomr teh land of teh smiles, Thailand, set under the bridge by the canals of Birmingham. …Lasan; an old favourite of ours, and winner of Gordon Ramsey’s ‘The F Word’, located in leafy St Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Chef Aktar certainly pushes the boundaries of Indian Cuisine. Pushkar Indian Cuisine; THE most stylish surroundings, and certainly putting design and style into Indian Cuisine and cocktails. Opus Restaurant; Focusing on regional produce, and market fresh ingredients from around the UK, Opus restaurant showcases the best food that the British Isles has to offer; The Oriental; The Oriental bar and restaurant is Birmingham’s pan Asian restaurant, bringing together food from Malaysia, Thailand and China…
Simpsons; Need we say more…Michelin-starred Simpsons restaurant is the benchmark for all of the regions restaurants, and the training ground for many of its finest chefs. Set leafy Edgbaston, and overseen by Chef Patron Andreas Antona and Luke Tipping…

The Weekend was also visited by Chefs from around the region including Will Holland of Ludlow’s La Becasse, Will is one of only 5 Chefs under 30 in the UK to hold a Michelin Star, and demonstrated his passions for simple local ingredients, cooked well on the University College Birmingham City’s Demo stage. Jean Christophe Novelli also dropped by to catch up with old friends and colleagues, including Birmingham’s own Andy Waters who trained with him over 15 years ago! Jean was delighted to be re-introduced to Andy on our eat the Midlands stand at the show, and spent much of the afternoon catching up on old times.

Music was supplied by the Jam House, and Smooth FM…With many of the regions finest producers and providers selling their wares at stalls around the park including Chase Vodka, East End Cuisine, After Belgian Liqueurs, Aga Rangemaster, Ainsley Harriott Food Products , Birmingham Wine School, Boxfresh Organics, and Taste Sponsors  Chiltern Railways to name but a few….
